What should you do when the neighbourhood porcupine decides to take up residence under your backyard deck? Obtaining the answer to this and many other questions about how people can positively coexist with wildlife in their community can be difficult for residents in many large urban areas. The Calgary Area Wildlife Hotline will address this emerging need in Calgary by providing information, animal proofing and, when necessary swift-response wildlife rescue. This will increase community awareness about preventative measures and promote appropriate responses to wildlife/human encounters that reduce the injury or death of wildlife.
