Pembina Institute for Appropriate Development

The Pembina Institute used an economic model to assess the potential for renewable energy to meet Alberta's future demands. This information will be used to ensure that renewable sources be taken into account as an integral component in upcoming power supply decisions.

Click here to read Greening the Grid, the report the Pembina published with the support of Alberta Ecotrust. Pembina's Greening the Grid analysis indicates that Alberta's growing demand for electricity can be entirely met by tapping into the province's vast renewable energy resources. The analysis clearly demonstrates that Alberta has incredible potential to become a leader in green power production and energy efficiency and doesn't have to rely on dirty fuels.
