Year: 2007 Cycle: Spring Amount: $20,000 Visit grantee's website Monitoring Director: Jesse Row Biosphere Institute of the Bow Valley Given its rapid growth and geographically constrained location, the town of Canmore has been forced sooner than most other communities to consider their ecological impacts and to move towards sustainability. The Biosphere Institute of the Bow Valley will use their Alberta Ecotrust Major Project Grant to fund the ongoing operation of the Bow Valley Sustainability Hub. Following an extremely successful first year, during which time they received international attention, the “Hub” will continue to engage all sectors of the community in sustainability education and action. |
