Alberta Native Plant Council

Some of Alberta’s native plants are thought to be at risk of loss or decline, but insufficient data exists to legally protect and begin to restore these species. The Alberta Native Plant Council has thus initiated Adopt-a-Plant Alberta to increase public awareness of the importance of native plants. Community Grant funding from Alberta Ecotrust will enable local citizens to gather the data needed to establish which species require legal protection, and initiate activities to protect and restore these plant populations in Alberta.
