Suncor is a major North American energy producer and marketer with a team of close to 6,500 employees. Near Fort McMurray, Suncor extracts and upgrades oil sands into high-quality, refinery-ready crude oil products and diesel fuel. In Western Canada, Suncor explores for, develops and produces natural gas, and in Ontario and Colorado, Suncor's downstream operations market the company's refined products to industrial, commercial and retail customers.

Suncor also invests in clean, renewable energy sources and has four wind power projects in operation with a total capacity of 147 megawatts of renewable energy as an alternative to hydrocarbon-fuelled generation. These farms are expected to offset the equivalent of approximately 284,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide annually. Suncor's ethanol facility in Ontario blends ethanol into Sunoco and Phillips 66-branded gasoline and contributes to CO2 emission reductions of up to 300,000 tonnes per year.

The Suncor Energy Foundation is a private, non-profit charitable foundation established by Suncor to receive Suncor's contributions and support registered Canadian charitable organizations. Its funding priorities are educational, environmental and community-based initiatives that primarily support Suncor's operating communities. Since its inception in 1998, the Foundation has contributed more than $57 million to Canadian communities.
