Logic Models

A logic model is a tool used to map out how a project will produce results. Often using language such as input, activities, outputs, and outcomes, they allow you to think strategically about how your activities (such as hiring a part-time coordinator) fits in with your overall goal (i.e. reducing climate change).

There are many different styles and types of logic models, but here is a downloadable version of Ecotrust's favorite logic model. If you applied to us in the past, you may recognize it as a standard part of our applications.

Our application forms ask for information similar to that captured in the logic model template, although the format are questions rather than a table. Using the logic model to work things out beforehand can help you make the mental connections you need to write a great application.
