Applying for a Major Project Grant

Applicants interested in applying for a Major Project Grant must first contact our grant coordinator. If the project satisfies the Major Project Grant eligibility requirements, you will be asked to submit a letter of intent. If approved you will only have about three to four weeks to complete the full application, so it is advisable that you have fully considered the details of your plan before submitting a letter of intent.

Submitting a Major Project Grant letter of intent

1. Review and become familiar with the grant application requirements in the Application Guidelines . These guidelines provide an overview of essential information required for completing an application for Alberta Ecotrust. In particular, please:

  • Ensure your project addresses one of Alberta Ecotrust's three environmental priorities.
  • Ensure your project does not duplicate the efforts of others. (See our grants database for previously funded projects.)
  • Ensure you have networked with those that are doing similar work to explore opportunities to collaborate.
  • Ensure your project meets the SMART criteria (find out more about SMART criteria in the application guidelines ).

2.  Create an account and review the Major Project Grant Letter of Intent Form , recently updated in June 2011. Changes have been made! Review the Guide to writing a great Letter of Intent for help.
