Community Grants

This program is designed to support community-based projects that typically focus on local opportunities for change through stewardship and action. These projects must be completed in one year.

Important Dates for Community Grant applicants

Spring 2008
April 15 - Spring application deadline
May 20 - Expected response to applicants

Fall 2008
October 15 - Fall application deadline
November 20 - Expected repsonse to applicants

Applying for a Community Grant:

1.	Review and become familiar with grant application requirements in the Application Guidelines.
	The Application Guidelines provide an overview of essential information required for completing an application for Alberta Ecotrust. In particular, please: Ensure your project addresses one of the three key environmental priorities of the Alberta Ecotrsut Grant Program Ensure your project does not duplicate the efforts of others (see our previously Funded Projects) Ensure you have networked with those that are doing similar work to explore opportunities to collaborate. You project meets the S.M.A.R.T. criteria (find out more about S.M.A.R.T. criteria in our application guidelines).

2.	Download and review the Community Grant Application form. Download the Community Grant Application form here.

3.	Contact the Grant Coordinator at Alberta Ecotrust.
	Experienced grant program staff are available to discuss your project idea and help you become familiar with key aspects of the grant application process.

4.	Complete the required forms a. Community Grant Application Form Download the Community Grant Application form here. b Organization Information Form (click here for the Organization Information Form)

5.	Ensure you have done the following to complete your submission to Alberta Ecotrust. Phoned the Alberta Ecotrust Grant Coordinator to discuss your proposal. Submitted a completed Organizational Information Form, if required. Submitted a completed Application. Submitted any supplementary information as specified in the Application Form. Submitted ALL materials electronically to grants@albertaecotrust.com by the specified deadline date and time.
