Myths and Realities of Reducing Climate ChangeTuesday March 22, 2011 12:00-1:30pm Many organizations and individuals feel compelled to take action to reduce climate change. What is the best way to reduce carbon footprints: solar, wind, or energy retrofits? What kinds of programs are available to support these kinds of changes? Join Climate Change Central and Alberta Ecotrust Foundation for an overview of the complexity around reducing climate change and finding funding to do so. We will also hear from one community that is a model of how to address climate change. This webinar will be co-presented by: Helen Corbett, Director of the Climate Change Central FoundationHelen has more than 30 years experience in the not-for-profit, public and private sectors, providing innovative, action-based solutions to address the many environmental challenges associated with climate change, sustainable development and biological diversity. Helen joined Climate Change Central in 2001, and worked as Director of Communications until late 2010 when she took over the organization's charitable arm. She brings direct experience in the NGO field, working as a documentary film-maker, researcher and writer in the Bering Sea region of Alaska and the Russian Far East.
